Roma, Dicembre 2022- ‘Le pupille’ di Alice Rohrwacher è in corsa per gli Oscar® 2023 tra le candidature per il miglior cortometraggio dell’anno. Nonostante la delusione per l’esclusione dai finalisti di ‘Nostalgia’ di Mario Martone, almeno un titolo in vista del 24 gennaio, quando saranno annunciate le ‘cinquine’ è entrato tra le candidature ufficiali dell’Academy in vista della cerimonia ufficiale che consegnerà le statuette ai vincitori il 12 marzo prossimo a Los Angeles.
Il corto è ambientato in un collegio religioso femminile durante la Seconda Guerra Mondiale, un piccolo film, dal 16 Dicembre visibile su Disney+, che racconta un’inconsueta storia natalizia e prende spunto da una lettera che Elsa Morante scrisse a Goffredo Fofi.
Annunciate anche le short list per i documentari, il trucco e le acconciature, la colonna sonora e la canzone originale, il miglior corto di animazione, il sonoro e gli effetti speciali. E, ovviamente, i 15 film internazionali, prodotti fuori dagli Stati Uniti, tra i quali sarà poi scelta la cinquina finale delle nomination.
